One of the best local fishmongers in the country is Wellgate Fisheries in Clitheroe, owned by Giles Shaw, supplier of fantastic fish and seafood to top restaurants in the North West and Yorkshire.
Giles’s Wellgate shop and stall at Clitheroe Market enable him to provide the same superb quality to the public too. Giles’s philosophy is simply to buy the best fish available, ethically sourced if possible.
The business was founded in 1939 by Jack Hall and the Shaws acquired it exactly 50 years later. Wellgate Fisheries is pleased to sponsor The Clog & Billycock.
